The GANZY presents MISS BLACK EXTRAORDINARY featuring GIA LOVE
Miss Black Extraordinary (MBE) spotlights Gia Love, a Black trans woman from New York City who amplifies conversations surrounding body, race, and trans identity through her work as a model and activist. Gia Love is know for her work as a Trans Equity Consultant and for starring in the 2016 award winning film KiKi about the New York ballroom scene.
The project takes inspiration from Miss Black America pageants, an institution derived from the Black is Beautiful movement of the 1960s, as well as campus Queens of HBCUS.
